Dr. Lawrence Platt has been in practice in Racine, Wisconsin since 1990. He has performed well over 10,000 surgeries and has been performing refractive surgery, including LASIK and PRK, since 1996. His practice is focused on patients benefiting from anterior segment surgery, including refractive surgery, no stitch cataract surgery, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, among others. He is committed to considering all methods of vision correction to achieve the best long-term results for his patients.
After graduating cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College in Massachusetts, Dr. Platt attended University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He graduated with honors and in the top 5% of his class. He did his internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee and his residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). After completing his training, Dr. Platt joined the Eye Clinic of Racine. He was among the first physicians in southeast Wisconsin to be trained in laser refractive surgery and is certified in in the most current technologies including blade-free LASIK and wavefront vision correction. Last year, the Eye Clinic of Racine merged with MCW and Dr. Platt joined our full-time faculty. In addition to his full-time practice, Dr. Platt has also taught surgery, including LASIK and cataract surgery, to ophthalmology residents at MCW since 1991. He has been awarded teacher of the year on multiple occasions.
Dr. Platt is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of numerous other organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery.
